Surgeries to Augment Breasts
Breast surgeries consist of a procedure through which implants are placed inside breasts. Plastic surgery procedures make use of implants of two kinds mailny: silicone and saline implants. A breast implant is a prosthesis placed inside the breast to better breasts size and shape. This technique is also known as breast augmentation, breast enlargement and mammoplasty.
The reason for undergoing this plastic surgeries procedure is mainly aesthetical. Women undergo a plastic surgery because of cosmetic reasons: they feel that their breasts have the wrong size or shape. Another possibility is that they have an operation of this kind because they have some trouble in the chest -congenital deformities, for instance. Implants can be filled with two materials: saline gel or silicone gel.
Other alternative implants have been developed -polypropylene string and soy oil, for instance- but the most used are saline and silicone. Although saline implants are sometimes preferable to silicone implants, they are more prone to developing cosmetic conditions such as rippling and wrinkling. Another disadvantage of saline implants is that they may be noticeable to the sight and touch. In this regard, silicone breast implants are considered superior.
Plastic surgery procedures are a kind of procedure that seems quite simple, but it is not. It may entail lots of risks, mainly after the operation. One of the risks is that the implants get broken and start leaking silicone or saline into the breasts. This may lead to many severe diseases if it is not treated well on time.
